SilentNotes is a productivity tool developed by Martin Stoeckli that enables you to jot down notes in a serene WYSIWYG editor. It is a note-taking application that values security and privacy as it gives you the power to safeguard your notes with a password. Moreover, it never collects your personal data.
It supports cloud backup and synchronization from Dropbox, Google Drive, and OneDrive. This is an open-source desktop program that you can freely download from Microsoft App Store. SilentNotes is a great alternative to Todour and SimpleNote.
Neatly designed note-taking app
SilentNotes provides a clean and elegant user interface that contains a background wallpaper and a few starter notes. To create one, just click the + button in the bottom right corner of the app screen. You will then be prompted to its WYSIWYG editor mode wherein you can format the text content of your notes. At the top-right section of the editor, you'll see the toolbar of this note-taking utility.
The toolbar consists of basic formatting options including Bold, Italics, Underline, Strike-through, Numbered, and Bulleted lists. The Windows + Period hotkey combination will lead you to access its Windows 10 emojis that you can insert into the editor. On top of that, it supports Windows spell-check feature as well. A better way to keep track of your pending tasks, bucket list, etc. is by making a to-do list.
Every item you'll enter will have a checkbox next to it that you can mark once completed. The toolbars in the to-do list are different as it's mostly composed of arrows that can help you rearrange it. Through its menu tab, you can modify the note color, add a header, quote some text, and link URLs. Bear in mind also that all of your notes get automatically saved in every instance.
